Knowledge Base
The Knowledge Base holds what REMI knows about your properties and how you like things done. Some of it you add, some REMI learns from your conversations. You decide what it uses, who it uses it with, and what gets deleted.
REMI saves everything here from day one, but acts on it only once the REMI team turns this on for your account. A line at the top of the page says whether it's on.
What goes in it
Every entry is one of two kinds, and applies to every property or only the ones you pick.
- Fact
- Something true about a property or your business. "Trash goes out Tuesday night." "Parking is the two spots by the garage."
- How to do it
- A way you want something handled. "If the hot tub shows OH, reset its breaker before calling anyone."
Each entry also shows where it came from:
- You told REMI
- Added by you, on this page or in chat.
- From your history
- Found in your past messages. Waits for you to confirm it.
- Learned by REMI
- Worked out by REMI from how conversations went.
Facts REMI learns about a person, such as the language they prefer, live on that person's page under People.
Add knowledge
- Choose AddPick Fact or How to do it.
- Choose where it appliesAll properties, including ones you add later, or specific properties.
- Choose who REMI uses it withSee the table below. The default is your team and guests.
- Write a title and the detailsSave it as written, or choose Format with AI to tidy it up and check the result before saving.
Have a house manual or a spreadsheet already? Choose Upload document. REMI reads PDF, Word, Excel, CSV and text files up to 25 MB, splits them into entries and shows you each one before anything is saved.
Who REMI uses it with
Only you set this, per entry.
| Setting | REMI uses it in |
|---|---|
| Only me | Your private chat with REMI, and the guest replies it drafts for your approval. |
| My team | Also your team group chats and REMI's chats with your team. |
| My team and guests | Also guest group chats where REMI replies on its own. |
REMI doesn't use the Knowledge Base when it talks to vendors. Keep door codes and similar details set to the people who actually need them.
Teach REMI in chat
You can also teach REMI from your chat. Start with "From now on" to save a standing rule, or "Remember that" to save a property fact. Only you can store access codes. Both show up here, and REMI uses them once the REMI team turns this on for your account.
When REMI gets something wrong, tell it. One correction is enough, and it shows up here too.
Try saying
Your chat with REMILearn from your history
REMI can read your past messages and pull out how you work. Choose a source under Learn from your history:
- REMI's past conversations
- Chats REMI was already part of.
- Hospitable threads
- Your past guest messages, if you use Hospitable.
- Upload a WhatsApp export
- In WhatsApp, open the chat, choose Export chat, then Without media, and upload the .txt file. You then say who each sender is.
REMI works in the background. Anything it finds lands under Needs your confirmation and isn't used until you say yes.
Confirm and correct
The page has three tabs:
- Needs your confirmation
- Things from your history to confirm, entries that disagree with each other, and anything REMI couldn't test. Answer Yes, Edit or No. For entries that disagree, choose Keep this one or Keep both.
- In use
- What REMI uses today.
- Not in use
- Entries you switched off, rejected or replaced.
Open any entry to change its wording, when it applies, its exceptions, or which properties and channels it covers. Edits are saved as a new version, so you can see what changed. Switch off stops REMI using it. Delete everywhere removes it and every version for good.
When REMI uses it
REMI acts on the Knowledge Base once the REMI team turns this on for your account. Until then REMI keeps learning and saving, but doesn't act on what it knows. This includes entries you add yourself, even though the page confirms them as saved.
Two switches on the page then control what REMI draws on:
- Use your instructions
- What you added or confirmed.
- Use what REMI learned
- What REMI worked out on its own. Turning it off takes effect straight away.
The Knowledge Base is on the web dashboard. It isn't in the mobile app.
