Group chats
REMI works inside the group chats you already run with cleaners, inspectors and vendors. It reads along, picks up problems, reminds people and translates, and it only speaks when it has something useful to add.
When REMI speaks
- Someone tags @REMI
- REMI answers. On SMS, type @REMI in the message.
- A message starts with "REMI"
- Treated the same as a tag.
- Someone replies to REMI's message
- REMI answers that reply.
- You post without tagging
- REMI assumes you're talking to the group and stays quiet. Tag it when you want it. After you address REMI, it keeps listening to you for 10 minutes without another tag, until you say thanks or someone else speaks.
- Anyone else posts
- REMI reads it, and replies only when it can help: a safe fix to try, an answer about the schedule, a missing detail.
To keep REMI out of a thread, say "Not for you, REMI".
Your team can report problems, accept or turn down a cleaning, say a job is done and ask about the schedule. Instructions that change how REMI works, like reassigning a job or changing a checkout time, only count from the Primary Operator. Admin changes, such as adding people, vendors, properties or reservations, work only in your private chat. Ask in a group and REMI asks you to make the change there.
When you ask REMI for something inside a group, it confirms in that group. You won't get a second copy in your private chat.
Add REMI to a group
From the dashboard
Go to Conversations and choose New group. You name the group, say what it's for and pick the people. The Primary Operator is always included. The group uses your account's channel, WhatsApp or SMS.
- On WhatsApp, REMI creates the group and adds everyone. People who block being added get a private invitation instead.
- On SMS, a group holds up to 8 people plus you and REMI, with US or Canadian numbers. Anyone who hasn't accepted REMI's texts yet gets a private link. The group opens once everyone has accepted. See SMS consent.
From your phone
Start a group the usual way and include REMI's number and the Primary Operator. REMI may message you to ask what the group is for. Answer by finishing its setup under Conversations. On SMS, REMI doesn't reply in the group until everyone has accepted its texts.
Tell REMI what a group is for
Open the group under Conversations. The more REMI knows, the better it routes work.
- Conversation type
- General operations, guest communication, cleaner, vendor or co-host coordination.
- REMI can use this group for
- Cleaning, inspection, turnovers, vendor coordination or general operations.
- Linked properties and vendors
- Which homes and which vendors the group covers.
- Notes for REMI
- Anything that helps, like "Ana and Luis split weekend cleans".
- Onboarded
- Switch it on once the type and notes are set, so REMI can use the group for its work.
If more than one group fits a job, REMI asks you which to use and remembers your answer.
A guest group must be linked to exactly one property. REMI replies to guests on its own only for mid-term properties.
You can also set a group's type and notes by telling REMI in the group. Property links can only be changed on the dashboard.

In the groupTranslation
The first time someone in a group writes in another language, REMI offers to translate the conversation in a [Setup] message. Only you can turn translation on or off. Say yes, or ask for it yourself. From then on REMI translates only the messages that need it and shows who said what.
Lake House cleaning
Group chat
- REMI's replies show their language first, then English. Your messages are translated for them.
- REMI handles up to two participant languages in one conversation.
- Names, addresses, dates, times, amounts and codes stay exactly as written. Emoji-only and link-only messages are left alone.
- Turnover messages to cleaners and inspectors go out in English for now, even where translation is on. REMI writes to you in English.
- Translation doesn't change what REMI is allowed to answer.

In the groupPhotos and videos
REMI looks at photos and videos people send in a group and uses them to understand a problem, so a picture of a leak is as good as a description. Switch Analyse media off in a group's settings if you'd rather it didn't. Voice notes aren't supported yet, so ask people to type or send a photo.
On SMS, each photo can be up to 2 MB. REMI asks for a smaller one if it's bigger. Only the photos and videos you send are saved to the work item. REMI looks at everyone else's but doesn't store them.
Pause or delete a group
- Pause automation
- REMI keeps the group's messages but stops acting on them. Switch it back on any time.
- Participants
- Rename people and set their role in the group. On WhatsApp you can add and remove members if REMI's account is a group admin.
- Delete group
- Removes the group for everyone. This can't be undone.
An SMS group has 3 to 10 members, including REMI. Everyone can see each other's numbers. Adding or removing someone pauses the group until you review it. Anyone can reply STOP to leave REMI's texts. REMI then pauses the group and tells you.
