Set up
Getting started
REMI accounts start with an invitation from the REMI team. This page walks through claiming it, the four setup steps, and the few things worth doing in your first week.
Claim your invitation
The REMI team creates your organization and sends you a private invitation link. It works once and expires after a week. If yours has expired, ask for a new one.
- Open the linkOn a computer or phone. In the REMI app, tap I have an invite link and paste it.
- Choose your email and passwordThe password needs at least 12 characters.
- Accept the terms and choose Create my loginYou are signed in and taken straight to setup.
One email and password opens your organization's dashboard. If others on your team need the dashboard, they use the same login. REMI sends its approvals and alerts only to the Primary Operator, who you choose in setup.
Setup steps
Setup saves after every step, so you can stop and come back later. The dashboard opens once you finish.
- AccountEnter your company or account name. REMI uses it when it writes to vendors and guests.
- PropertyConnect Hospitable or Hostaway and pick the listings to import, or add one property by hand. You can add more later.
- MessagingChoose your Primary Operator, the person REMI messages for decisions. Enter their personal mobile number and, ideally, an email for operational emails.
- ReadyA checklist confirms your properties, Primary Operator and REMI number. Choose Go to dashboard.
Not sure who should be Primary Operator? Read what the role means.
Connect your PMS
REMI reads your listings, reservations and guest messages from your property management system. It supports Hospitable and Hostaway, one per organization. Connect during setup or later from Integrations.
Hospitable
- Create an access tokenIn Hospitable, open Settings, then API, then Personal access tokens.
- Paste it into REMIChoose Connect Hospitable, then tick the listings REMI should manage.
- Add REMI's webhook in HospitableCopy the webhook address REMI shows and add it under Settings, API, Webhooks. Without it, new bookings and guest messages don't reach REMI.
Hostaway
- Create an API keyIn Hostaway, open Settings, then Hostaway API, choose Create and pick Hostaway Public API. Only the main account owner can do this.
- Copy the Account ID and API keyHostaway shows the key only once, so copy it before closing the window.
- Paste both into REMIREMI adds its own webhook in Hostaway. If it can't, it shows you the details to add by hand.
Listing details stay in sync with your PMS, so you change them there. In REMI you can still set each property's time zone, rental type and turnover team. Use Sync now at the top of any dashboard page to pull the latest bookings.
No PMS? Add properties and reservations yourself under Properties. See adding your own reservations.
REMI's number
REMI has its own number on WhatsApp or SMS, set up by the REMI team when your account is created. Each account uses one of the two, and it can't be changed later. Find the number under Integrations, in Phone numbers. Your private chat with REMI and your group chats use this number. If REMI also has a second number for vendor groups, it shows there too.
Add REMI's number to your contacts so its messages are easy to spot.
Your first week
None of these are required on day one, but each one switches on more of what REMI can do.
- Set each property's turnover team. REMI sends no cleaning or inspection reminders for a property until it has a primary cleaner and a primary inspector. How
- Add your vendors. REMI recommends one when something breaks. How
- Bring REMI into your group chats. Create a group from Conversations, or start one on your phone with REMI's number and the Primary Operator. How
- Check your time zone. Under Organization, set the time zone REMI uses when a reminder doesn't name one.
- Add house info. Wi-Fi, parking, trash day, appliance quirks. REMI stores it now and uses it once the REMI team turns this on for your account. How
Password and sign-in
Forgot the password? Choose Forgot password? on the sign-in page. REMI emails a reset code to your login email. You can also reset it from Organization while signed in.
